TL;DR
We all live with a story running in the background.
Sometimes it keeps us grounded.
Other times, it keeps us small.
This week is about naming the story you’ve outgrown and choosing something better.
You don’t need to erase the past.
You just need to stop letting it drive.

The story I was living didn’t sound dramatic.
It sounded like a whisper.
Like: you’re better when you’re in control.
Or: you’re falling behind again.
Or: if you don’t keep moving, you’ll lose everything.
I didn’t question it, because it sounded like me.
But when I finally gave that voice a shape, I realised it wasn’t mine.
It was something I’d inherited.
Something I’d adapted to survive.
And survival stories don’t always translate to growth.
You can’t become someone new while living under the rules of who you used to be.

Some stories aren’t loud.
They don’t shout.
They just keep repeating themselves until we mistake them for the truth.
But noticing a story is how it starts to loosen.
Naming it is how you begin to outgrow it.
You don’t have to fight it.
You just have to stop letting it lead.
